1. Fundamental duties are contained in Part IV A of the Constitution.
2. Article 51A of the Constitution contains Fundamental Duties.
3. The Constitution ( Forty-Second Amendment) Act, 1976 added Fundamenta Duties to the Constitution.
4. As per Article 51A every citizen of India Shall
a) abide by the Constitution and resperct National Flag and National Anthem;
b). Follow the ideals which inspired our national struggle for freedom;
c) Prtect the sovereignty, unity and integrity of India;
d) defend the country and render national service;
e) promote the spirit of common brotherhood among all the people of India and renounce practices derogatory to the dignity of women;
f). preserve the rich heritgage of our culture;
g) protect the natural environment including the forests, lakes, rivers and wild life;
h) develop the scientific temper, humanism and the sprit of inquiry;
i) Safeguar the public property and abjure violence;
j) strive towards excellence in all spheres of individual and collective activity;
k) provide opportunity for education to his child between six and fourteen years;
