Circulatory System

There are 8 pairs of heart in Earthworm.
The heart that pumps blood into lungs for oxygenation is called Pulmonary Heart.
In Earthworm coelomic fluid is present between bodywall and alimentary canal.
Alary muscles are present in Cockroach. The are in fan shape.
Blood flows in the spaces called sinuses in cockroach.
The heart of reptiles consists two auricles and one ventricle.
Ventral blood vessel distributes blood in the earthworm.
Aorta is the largest artery. It carries blood from the heart.
In Fish branchial heart pumps blood to Gills.
The ventricle in reptiles is partly divided.
Transport of the substances in protozoa occur either by diffusion or by the movements of cytoplasm.
In double circuit circulation blood passes twice through the heart.
In single circuit circulation blood passes through the heart only once.
In open circulatory system heart pumps blood into spaces. Blood vessels are absent.
Blood passes twice through the heart in frog and other higher animals.
In fish heart consists two chambers.
The blood in Cockroach and Grasshopper is white in colour.
In cockroach circulatory system consists of heart, blood, sinuses and Alary muscles.
Ventral blood vessel is below the alimentary canal and supplies blood to various organs.
Dorsal blood vessel is above the alimentary canal and collects blood from various organs.
There are two major blood vessels in Earthworm. They are:
a) Dorsal blood vessel b) Ventral blood vessel
Circulatory system consists of heart, blood and blood vessels.
Circulation occurs between heart and blood vessels in closed circulatory system.
Open circulatory system is in Grosshopper.
The ventricle in Lizard is incompletely divided.
The heart in amphibian consists three chambers.
The blood in crabs and snails is blue in colour.
The ventricle in reptiles is incompletely divided into two chambers.
Sinus Venosus is absent in birds and mammals.
The blood of Cockroach is white in colour due to the absence of Haemoglobin. So it doesn`t carry oxygen.
The heart in birds and mammals consists 4 chambers.
There are 8 pairs of hearts in megascolex.
Operculum occurs in Bony fishes.
The contractions and relaxations of alary muscles of Cockroach help in forcing the blood into the heart.
In multicellular organisms blood and lymph fluids are developed for transport of substances.
Sinus Venosus opens into right auricle.
The open circulatory system consists heart sinus and blood.
In fishes deoxygenated blood is oxygenated in Gills.
In amphibians deoxygenated blood is collected into Caval Veins. Caval veins are united to form Sinus venosus.
Deoxygenated blood in fishes is collected into Sinus Venosus.
The blood of earthworm is red in colour. It consists water, salts and white blood cells but red blood cells are absent.
